CONFESSION!
I write down every song I play at every wedding I DJ. I have hundreds of these lists, going back to 2007.
It’s an OCD thing. It’s an Ants-In-Pants thing. It means I was a radio DJ making the switch to wedding DJ, slightly nervous and wanting to do a great job for my clients.
Making these wedding playlists turned out to be fabulous research because I would also indicate the reaction from the dance floor. If the song cleared the floor, I wrote a downward arrow next to the song. If the song kept the dance-floor going, I marked an upward arrow. If the song PACKED the dance-floor, I marked two arrows. Two arrows=EPIC! (Above photo is a Two-arrow song from one of my weddings!!)
I still make these playlists each Saturday night, so I know what songs fill dance floors at weddings. Here is a list of the Top 10 Floor-Filler songs for weddings for 2018:
